The Catalan club vice-president for economic affairs Javier
Faus Modified, for his previous remarks about Argentine striker Lionel Messi,
where he confirmed that he deserves to get the highest salary in the world due
to being the best player.
In remarks last night during a news conference with
Barcelona president Sandro Rosell to talk about the project of construction of
a new stadium for Barca, Faus said that he did not deliberately abuse when he
stated in the past that there is no need to improve the contract Messi after it
has been improved and increased duration of last year.
Faus confirmed that Messi is the best player in the world,
"regardless of what Awards say” in reference to the Cristiano Ronaldo to
Real Madrid player beat recently won the Golden Ball as the best player of

Faus added that Messi will continue to be the best player in
the world "and will continue wearing a Barca shirt during the next five
years," noting that "the achievements that we have lived were not to

The Faus has sparked controversy late last December after he

In response to these statements Messi confirmed that Faus
