Messi received the Golden Boot award for the third time and unique record




The Barcelona striker, Lionel Messi, received on Wednesday the Golden Boot award for the season 2012-2013 for the third time as the best scorer in the European leagues (46 goals), to repeat what he did in seasons 2009-2010 and 2011-2012, and set the record for number of times to win this award.
Messi becomes the first player to win the award three times, after scoring 46 goals in 32 games in La Liga last season, receives the award from former Barcelona star Hristo Stoichkov, the winner of the award by the equally with the Mexican Hugo Sanchez in the 1989-90 season.
Lionel Messi received the award at a difficult time going through where he was a new injury which will prevent him out of playing until the end of the year.

Messi was accompanied by receiving the award during the Catalan club president Sandro Rosell, the first team coach and fellow Argentine Gerardo Martino Tata, players Carles Puyol and Xavi Hernandez and Gerard Pique, Cesc Fabregas and Adriano and Jose Pinto.
And the superiority Messi on the German Gerard Muller, Portuguese Eusebio, Fernando Gomez, Cristiano Ronaldo, the Roman Dudu Giorgisco, Scottish Ally McCoist and Thierry Henry, and all of them won the award twice.

It was the first time that Messi won the Golden Boot in the 2009-2010 seasons and scored 38 goals, the second time he scored 50 goals in the 2011-2012 seasons.

The 50 goals scored by Messi in the league two seasons ago is the largest average throughout history in the major European leagues, where no one up to this rate.
The award is added to many personal awards capped by Messi recently, most notably was the control of the Golden Ball award for best player in the world during the past four years (2009 2010 - 2011 - 2012).
Messi crowned “Pichichi" Award as the best scorer in the league in the seasons 2009-2010 and 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 in addition to being crowned top scorer in the Champions League in the last four seasons (2009 to 2013).

Messi record equals for the best scorer in the Champions League in a single season (14 goals) with Ruud van Nistelrooy and Italian Altafini, when achieved this record in a season (2011-12), is also the only player who has scored 5 goals in one game (2011 - 12) in front of Bayer Leverkusen.
Messi also broke the record for goals in a single year in 2012, scoring 91 goals, is expected to break the record for the former Real Madrid star Raul Gonzalez in the Champions League ( 71 goals) .

Messi scored (26 years) so far in the tournament 65 goals.

In addition to his personal titles, Messi led his team Barcelona 3 times for the coronation of the Champions League, and twice World Cup Clubs, and the European Super Cup twice, six times La Liga, and twice Copa Del Ray, six times the Spanish Super Cup.

The Messi cabinets reduced only coronation continental Copa America title, and World Cup with his national team Argentina, which has already crowned him the title of Youth World Cup Under-20 in 2005, and the Beijing Olympics 2008.
