Argentina captain Lionel Messi gave the strongest signal to
the possibility of his departure from Barcelona, saying in an interview
published in the Argentine press Ole on Tuesday:
"Things have changed a
lot in football."
the best player in the world four times joined Barcelona
academy at the age of 13 years, but he does not appear at the best levels over
the past 18 months, has also faced problems with the Spanish tax authorities.
Now, at the age of 27 left for Messi there is at least five
years of his career between the adults in the game, and if he got a generous
offer likely not be less than 100 million euros (125 million dollars), it would
not be strange to leave Barcelona.
Asked about his future plans, Messi told Ole that he lives
"in the moment" and focus on winning titles with Barcelona after
failing to win any major title in the 2013-2014 season.
And he answered a question on whether plans to stay in
Barcelona for his last professional career saying, "then we'll see what happens."
He continued: "Things have changed a lot in football.
I've always said I wanted to stay (in Barcelona) forever. Sometimes things do
not go as you want it."
When cornered by asking whether it will be his choice to
leave or that someone else might pay for this decision, he replied: "I
have said repeatedly, if the option for me I would stay forever."
He continued: "But as I said, sometimes things do not
go as you want it."
Barcelona occupies second place in the Spanish league with
two points behind Real Madrid after 11 games, and advance to the knockout round
