The former general manager of
Real Madrid Argentine Jorge Valdano said that his compatriot Lionel Messi
Barcelona striker and team tango is a "king in football like Pele and
Maradona De Stefano and Cruyff."
Valdano said in an interview with
during the presentation of his book (11 force commander: football as a school
of life) "Messi is Maradona this day and age," saying he needs to be
crowned world title with his team to enter the "godly List".
The former official in the royal
club added "we cannot blame on Messi, he is an exceptional player, and
does not show many people like him in history."
Valdano completed, on the other
hand on the player Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo, "It's the biggest
example in the world on what is meant by the professionalism word and their
relationship to perfection and ambition."
The former player considered that
“a large part of the credit for Messi reached back to his father and mother,
it’s different with Cristiano ... every
year he develops that he wants to be the best and work to achieve this."
Valdano said “within Real Madrid
when you have a player to score 70 goals in one year, you will compare him with
one must be Alfredo Di Stefano, Raul.”
The former official said,
"Personally I think that Cristiano pride in his own building, which is an
excellent person and reality has nothing to do with the picture painted in the
minds of some about him, I repeat he is an excellent person and an exceptional player.”
Valdano said that " the best
thing " done by Real Madrid in the past five years has been to extend the
contract with "Rocket Madeira ," noting the other hand, that the
amount paid by Real Madrid to sign the Welshman Gareth Bale is not only a
matter of "the affairs of the market."
Valdano predicted that Atletico
Madrid will be “black horse in Europe and not only La Liga.”
